Virginia Leona McKinnie

MORRISONVILLE - Virginia L. McKinnie, 77 of Morrisonville passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at 3:28 PM at Taylorville Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 21, 1934 at Raymond the daughter of Raymond and Ruby (Watson) Todt. She married Harry "Red" McKinnie on May 19, 1950 at Taylorville. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers, Tony, George, Bruce and Bobby Todt.

Virginia was employed as secretary for the Morrisonville Community School District, retiring after 29 years of service. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville, American Legion Post 721 Auxiliary and Morrisonville Community Club. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Fan and Fighting Illini Basketball Fan. She loved decorating her home, her Christmas lights, shopping and guiding the students at Morrisonville High School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Survivors: Husband, Harry "Red" McKinnie of Morrisonville, IL; Son, Doug (wife, Marcia) McKinnie of Taylorville, IL; Daughters, Donna Kemmerling (companion, Mike), Becky Painter and Brenda Clarke all of Morrisonville, IL; 9 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Butch Todt of Sarasota, FL; Sisters, Zita (husband, George) Torres of Aurora, IL, Ramona Schuessler of Mt. Olive, IL, and Sandy Goodson of Mt. Morris, IL; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30 at 11:00 AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating. Burial will follow in Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time at the church.
