Vivian R. Aiken

Vivian R. Aiken, 83, of Taylorville died on August 15, 2004 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, South, Beardstown, IL.

She was born September 19, 1920, in Lansing, KS. She married John J. Aiken in 1939 in Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a bookkeeper for 20 years at St. Vincent Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are her daughter, Christina “Lynn” Estes of Meredosia; sons, Douglas “Bruce” (wife Joanne) Aiken of Memphis, TN, and Roderick J. Aiken of Houma, LA; brother, Norman Reed of Taylorville, three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Goldie May (Moon) Reed, husband, and one grandson, Joshua Aiken.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.

There will be no visitation.
