W. Eloise Patterson

W. Eloise Patterson, 92, of Taylorville died Monday, April 3, 2006 at 5:30 A.M. in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Springfield, IL.

She was born on December 17, 1913 in Morrisonville, IL to Lawrence Ray and Verda Elva (Swift) Smith. She married John Joseph Patterson on November 23, 1937 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1977. She was a homemaker and held various jobs in Taylorville. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Taylorville, Hazlemere Order of Eastern Star, Medenia Chapter of White Shrine of Jerusalem, and South Fork Home Extension.

She is survived by her sons: Henry “Hank” Patterson and wife Lessie of White Heath, IL. Gary Patterson (wife Marlene) of Springfield; sisters: Raberta Neathery of Taylorville, Mary May of North Carolina, Edna Alonzo of California, Elaine Galyon of Springfield; brother: Larry Smith of Mt. Vernon; 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.

Funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church, Taylorville on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, Taylorville. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2006 at 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Shafer Funeral Home, Taylorville, IL.
