Wayne E. Durbin, Sr.

February 10, 1938 - April 29, 2011

Wayne E. Durbin, Sr., 73, of Stonington, died on Friday, April 29, 2011 in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield.  He was born on February 10, 1938 in Stonington to Orville Arley and Lucille Mae (Jackson) Durbin.  He married Beulah McMillen on February 4, 1955 in Taylorville.  He worked at Stonington Fertilizer for over 30 years. He was as member of Old Stonington Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Beulah of Stonington; sons, Chris (Lori) Durbin and Tim (Tammy) Durbin, both of Stonington; daughters, Connie (Butch) Higgason of Pawnee and Sandy Rohdeman of Auburn; 17 grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren; sister, Maxine (Frank) Vincent of Taylorville, and half-sisters, Anna (Rich) Cahill and Alma (David) Binkley, both of Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Wayne Jr. and Joey, brothers, Eddie, Arley Orville, Billy, Leo, and Orville Jr.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Stonington, with Rev. William Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Ponting Cemetery, Stonington.  

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 2, 2011 from 5 until 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Stonington.
