William "Bill" Akley

William "Bill" Akley, 77 of Decatur, formerly of Taylorville passed away on Friday, November 30, 2012 at 4:24 PM at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

He was born on December 25, 1934 at Kincaid the son of William and Mary (Earney) Akley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sisters, Alice Ross and Rita Caudill, Brothers, Jim and Larry Akley, Step Sisters, Polly, Josephine and Velma, Step Brothers, John, Jim, Harold, Harvey, Raymond, Anny and Charles Shanks.

Survivors include: Brothers, Lewis (Tina) Shanks, Robert (Deeanne)Shanks and David (Deetta) Shanks all of Taylorville, IL and Frank (Leke) Shanks of New Mexico; Step Brother, George Shanks of Texas; Sisters Mary Lowe and Rosalie Queen both of Rolla, MO and Martha Wilhite of Springfield, IL; Step Sister, Bernice McMillan of Taylorville, IL; Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at Ponting Cemetery in Stonington at a later date.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.
