TAYLORVILLE - William D. "Bill" Hamell, 76, of Taylorville passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at his home.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 20, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Church of the Nazarene in Taylorville. Memorial services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.

Shafer-Perfetti Funeral Home in Taylorville is in charge of arrangements.

William D. "Bill" Hamell, 76, Taylorville, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009 at 1:35 A.M. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. He was born August 23, 1933 in Taylorville, the son of Darrell and Anna (Hoover) Hamell. He married Patricia Lynne Moy on December 30, 1955 in Taylorville.

He is survived by sons: Randy (wife Penny) Hamell, Billy Hamell (companion, Lisa Price), & Kevin Hamell (Fiancé' Angela Hyman) all of Taylorville, 8 grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, brothers; Allen (Brenda) Hamell, Ricci (Lisa) Hamell, Tim Hamell all of Taylorville, Terry Hamell of Phoenix, AZ, sisters; Joyce (Ray) Brodien of Hudsonville, MI., Margaret Boarman of Nokomis, IL., LouVerda Cavatorta of Taylorville, Debbie Hamell of Florida, & Beverly (Jim) Sunderland of Xenia, IL., brother-in-law; Bruce Brockelsby of Edinburg, IL, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter: Catherine Lynn Brockelsby, granddaughter: Rachel Spinner, brothers: Robert & Darrell Jr., and sisters: Rhea Sue Hamell and Patty Hamell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20 from 11:00-1:00 P.M. at the Church of the Nazarene in Taylorville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 20 at 1:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Jonathon Maloney officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Taylorville.
