William “Bill” L. Klinger, 75, of Morrisonville died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at 2:23 a.m. in his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Klinger are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday morning, Dec. 29, at the Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. The Rev. Jim Ferrill will officiate, and burial will be in Morrisonville Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Perfetti’s.
Mr. Klinger was born Jan. 19, 1936, in Taylorville to Aaron Edwin and Hilda Ruth (Lowe) Klinger. He married Phyllis Ann Hafliger on Jan. 23, 1960, at the United Methodist Church of Taylorville; she preceded him in death on July 6, 2009. His parents also preceded him.
He is survived by one son, Kent (wife Shelly) Klinger of Clinton; three daughters, Kara Klinger and Kayla (husband Jim) Baird, all of Morrisonville and Kristi (husband Steve) Vose of Illiopolis; 12 grandchildren, Holly (husband Brian) Edwards, Heath Howard, Brandon (wife Jessica) Leonard, Alana (husband David) Lester, Jordan and Brayton Vose, J.R. (wife Tracy) Baird, Levi, Scott, Kurtis, and Tatum Baird, and Aaron (wife Ashley) Klinger; 12 great-grandchildren; two aunts, Nila Smith of Taylorville and Doris Mundhenke of Morrisonville; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
An Army veteran, Mr. Klinger retired from PPG Industries after 30 years of service. He and his wife co-owned Klinger Shed in Morrisonville for 17 years. A member of the Christian County Farm Bureau, he raised registered Black Angus cattle
