William "Squeek" L. Campbell
January 17, 1916 ~ January 16, 2005
William L. "Squeek" Campbell Sr., 88, of Morrisonville, IL passed away Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Noon at his home.
He was born January 17, 1916 in rural Owaneco, IL the son of Christopher and Willola (Flood) Campbell. He married Mary J. Mu:ffick on December 10, 1937 in St. Charles, MO; she preceded him in death on December 27, 2002. Also preceding him in death were his parents; Brothers, Alex and Oscar Campbell; Sisters, Maude Ketchum and Mamie Powell.
Mr. Campbell began as a paperboy for the Taylorville Breeze Newspaper, he worked for Peabody Mining Company for 11 years, was an auctioneer for 50 years and a lifelong farmer in the Morrisonville/Palmer area. He also did land measurements for the Department of Agricultures ASC office. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, Morrisonville Knights of Columbus Council 1151, Bear Creek Community Club and Christian County Farm Bureau.
Survivors: Son, William L. (wife, Nancy) Campbell Jr. of Morrisonville, IL; Daughter, Mary Ann (husband, Wayne) Stewart of Buellton, CA; 6 Grandchildren, Brett, Janice, David, Julie, William and Victoria; 10 Great Grandchildren, Jason, Robert, David, Julie, Johnny, William, Jackson, Colton, Sara and Drew; Sister In Law, Rose Lafferty of Taylorville, IL; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Friends may call Tuesday, January 18 from Noon-1:45 PM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, January 18 at 2:00 PM at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville, with Rev. John Hannigan officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Memorials may be made to St. Vincent Memorial Hospital Hospice.
