William Thomas Goebel

SPRINGFIELD - William "Bill" Thomas Goebel, 79 of Springfield passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at St. Joseph's Home in Springfield.

He was born December 23, 1931 in Christian County the son of Clarence F. and Lillian A. (Bergschneider) Goebel. He married L. Ruth Nagle on October 29, 1976 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Helen Sullivan.

Bill retired from Fiat-Allis where he worked as a machinist. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield and Panther Creek Archery. He was an excellent archer and enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Survivors: Wife, L. Ruth Goebel of Springfield, IL; Brother, John Goebel of Sun City West, AZ; Sisters, Pat Moore of Amherst, WI, Mary Smith of San Marcos, CA and JoAnn (husband, Chris) Heil of Viola, IL; Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Funeral Mass: 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 17 at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Morrisonville with Rev. Gerald Bunse officiating.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 17 at St. Maurice Catholic Church.

Burial: St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery, Morrisonville.
