Wilma Bruns

Wilma M. Bruns 97, of Taylorville died on Thursday, January 15, 2009 in Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Pana She was born on December 19, 1911 in Arthur, IL to Charles “Charlie ‘ Manning Warren and Lula Alice (Piper) Warren. She married Edward G. Bruns on June 9, 1934 in East St. Louis, IL He preceded her in death in 1976. She worked at the Secretary of State Drivers License Division and later worked at Green Miracles where she retired. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Taylorville.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Viall of Pana; Daughter-In-Law: Bonnie Bruns of Taylorville and DelRae Beermann of S. Sioux City, NB; Sister-In-Laws: Marie and Delores Bruns of Shelbyville; Grandchildren: Andy Bruns (wife Jackie) of Summerset, PA, Laura (husband Eric) Long of Assumption, Zac Viall (wife Heather) of Oswego, IL, and Abby Viall of Chicago; 5 Great-Grandchildren: Parker and Kiersten Bruns, Halle and Al Tucker Long and Connor Viall; Nephew: Bill Farris of Collinsville and Niece Sue Brown of Effingham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Warren Edward’ Pee Wee” Bruns, brother Paul Warren and sister Pauline Decker.

Funeral service will be held on 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at First United Methodist Church, Taylorville with Pastor Charlie Sward officiating. Burial will be held at Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, II. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at First United Methodist Church, Taylorville from 5:00P.M.-7:00 P.M.

Memorials may be made to Christian County Senior Citizen’s Center, Taylorville.
