Zelma L. Welch, 104, of Morrisonville passed away Friday, September 15, 2006 at 1:43 AM at Hillsboro .Area Hospital.
She was born March 29, 1902 in Duluth, Minnesota the daughter of Charles and Lucy (Hammond) Coy. She married Ralph Welch on February 25, 1922 in Taylorville; he preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; Son, Charles David Welch; Sister, Stella Curvey; Brother, George Coy.
Mrs. Welch was a member of United Methodist Church of Morrisonville. She was an avid gardener who loved flowers and horses. She painted many beautiful pictures of which some won blue ribbons.
Survivors: Sons, Everett (wife, Vivian) Welch of Round Lake Beach, IL and Earl (wife, Carlene) Welch of Merced, California; 8 Grandchildren, Robert of South Carolina, John of Florida, Susan of Kentucky, Cindy of Virginia, Raoulene of Oklahoma, Bill, Wayne and Terri all of California; Dear friends, Lou and Delores Forbes of Morrisonville who cared for Zelma during the last several years of her life.
Friends may call on Monday, September 25 from 9:30-10:30 AM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home in Morrisonville. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 25 at 10:30 AM at Moffitt-Perfetti Funeral Home, with Rev. Ken Dees officiating. Burial will follow in Morrisonville Cemetery.
In memory of Zelma Welch memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of American Heart Association.
