Chester "Sam" Ray Booth

Chester Ray "Sam" Booth, 71, of Sorento, died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento, the Rev. Elmer L. Fenton, officiant. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Visitation at Perfetti Funeral Home in Sorento is from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday.
Born July 26, 1935, in Calhoun County, Illinois, he was a son of Chet and Lettie (Martin) Booth. He married Norma "Annie" File Aug. 7, 1954, in Alton.
She survives along with two daughters, Kathy Allen of Hillsboro and Mrs. Bob (Ramona) Lallish of Greenville; a son, Steve (wife, Christine) Booth of Sorento; two brothers, William Booth of Godfrey and Gary Booth of Hardin; a sister, Melba Knott of Texas; two grandchildren, Hunter and Lexi Booth, both of Sorento; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Foiles.
Mr. Booth was employed at Owens Illinois Glass and for Weyland Security before his retirement.
