David Wayne Long, 16, of Litchfield, died at 1:42 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2007, from injuries sustained in a single vehicle accident north of Sorento.
Services will be held Friday, July 20, at 10 a.m. at the Litchfield High School Gymnasium with burial following at Sunnyside Cemetery, Sorento. The Rev. Stephen Schmidt and the Rev. Elmer Fenton will officiate.
Friends may call Thursday at the high school gym from 4 to 8 p.m. Perfetti Funeral Home, Sorento, is in charge of arrangements.
David was born June 3, 1991, at Litchfield, son of Ronald and Sherri (Hankins) Long. He attended Litchfield High School where he played football his freshman and sophomore years.
He was a member of the FFA and active in 4-H as a member of the Litchfield Clover Sprouts.
Survivors are his father and stepmother, Ronnie and Missy Long of Litchfield; his mother, Sherri Long of Hillsboro; a brother, Jacob William Long of Litchfield; a sister, Katlin Pauline Long of Litchfield; and two stepsisters, Monique Alexandera Romans and Mendy Rae Romans of Brownstown.
David also leaves his paternal grandmother, Mary Lou Long of Sorento; maternal grandparents, David and Carolyn Hankins of Litchfield; stepgrandparents, David and Genevieve Logan of Medora; great-grandparents, Betty Law and Pearl Laird of Litchfield and Louva Hankins of Gillespie; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death was his paternal grandfather, Wayne Long.
