Ida Mae Haare

Ida Mae Haare, age 96, of Fisherville, Kentucky (formally of Morrisonville, Illinois) passed away on March 9, 2024 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Ida was born on April 30, 1927, the daughter of Orville Trumble Rittenhouse and Carrie (Cornelius) Rittenhouse.

She graduated from Morrisonville High School in Morrisonville, Illinois in 1944. On March 1, 1946, she married Harold William “Bud” Haare. He passed away on August 14, 2006.

Ida was a strong, hard-working, and family-oriented woman. She was a devout Methodist, who regularly attended Sunday services at the Morrisonville United Methodist Church. Ida worked for many years as the Head of Housekeeping at Don Barry Nursing Homes. She also worked alongside her husband in his farming operations. Ida lived over 90 years in Morrisonville, Illinois.

Ida’s interests included gardening, knitting, crocheting and she was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. For many years, she enjoyed fishing with her late husband. She was a consistent helper in her church and, on multiple occasions, crafted rugs for the church’s fundraiser.

Ida is survived by her son, Larry (Theresa) Haare of Fisherville, KY; daughter-in-law, Diane Haare of Morrisonville, IL; 4 grandchildren, Marissa (David) Bockewitz of Morrisonville, IL; Marcie (Brent) Martin of Louisville, KY; Carrie (Billie) Turley of Kansas City, KS; & Lindsay (Ryne) Carr of Nashville, TN; 9 great-grandchildren, Madyson Bockewitz & Peyton Bockewitz of Morrisonville, IL; Tanner Turley, Lucas Turley, & Max Turley of Kansas City, KS; Vivienne Carr & Caroline Carr of Nashville, TN; Brennan Martin & Reese Martin of Louisville, KY; & several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, Richard Haare; brother, Leon R. Rittenhouse; sisters, Ada Faye Rittenhouse and Anna Mary Rittenhouse.

Visitation & Funeral Services: The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.  on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home, 304 Carlin Street, Morrisonville, IL. Ida’s funeral service will follow, beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Perfetti-Assalley Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Ferrill officiating.

Internment will follow the funeral service at Morrisonville Cemetery in Morrisonville.

Memorial contributions in Ida’s memory are suggested to: Morrisonville United Methodist Church or Christian County Humane Society.
