Myrna Marie Matheny, 75, of Taylorville passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

She was born March 6, 1934, in Roca, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Ruth Johnson Scheel. She married John Junior Matheny on August 7, 1954, in Taylorville. He died in 2007. Myrna was a homemaker and an avid reader.

Surviving are her son, John (wife Bonnie) Matheny of Taylorville; daughters: Debra (husband Jim) Wenger of Largo, FL, and Susan (husband Greg) Wease of Scottville; grandchildren: Andy Estill, Kayla, Miranda and Riley Matheny; brother, Charles (wife Lorraine) Scheel of Lincoln, NE; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Danny Matheny; brother, Robert Scheel; and sisters: Carolyn Jacobs and Janice Lundquist.

Private family services will be held. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
