Rev. Norman L. Fenton

Rev. Norman L. Fenton, 88 of Granite City passed away at 5:42 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.
Norman was born on October 12, 1927 at Sorento the son of George and Alberta (Green) Fenton. He and Birdie R. Sykes where married on January 8, 1949 at Granite City; she preceded him in death on August 5, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents; Daughter, Gail E. Neidhardt; Granddaughter, Robin M. Fenton; Step Mother, Elsie Fenton; Brother, George; Sisters, Darlene, Dodie and Nola Mae.
Norman was a bi-vocational clergy serving the Gateway Conference of the Free Methodist Church for many years. He loved gospel singing and performed with the Unbroken Circle for many years. He served in the Navy during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 713. He was also a self employed contractor.
Survivors include: Daughters, Ronda (husband, Robert) Guffey and Tina Arico both of Granite City, IL and Teresa (husband, Kevin) Hale of Pontoon Beach, IL; Sons, Dennis (wife, Deborah) Fenton of Greenville, IL, Lonnie Fenton of Flowery Branch, GA, Walter (wife, Eileen) Fenton of The Woodlands, TX and Jody (wife, Dawn) Fenton of Jerseyville, IL; 19 Grandchildren; Many Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Uncle, Elmer Fenton; Brother in law, Tracy Lakin; Sister in law, Janice (husband, Glen) Moore; Many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Hillsboro Free Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Sands officiating. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery in Sorento. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, November 20 at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road, Glen Carbon, IL. In memory of Norman L. Fenton memorials are suggested to Greenville College.
