Stephen Ballhurst

Stephen Francis Ballhurst, 64, of Hillsboro, died on Jan. 8, 2012, at 6:39 p.m.

He was born on June 11, 1947, in Alton.

Mr. Ballhurst attended school at St. Patrick's, Marquette Catholic High School and Alton High School in Alton. He served for two years in the United States Army from 1967-1969, mostly in Vietnam. Following 33 years of service, he retired from Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, MO.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Wendy (Walker) Ballhurst of Hillsboro, one daughter, Nikki Ballhurst of Alton, two sons, Nick Ballhurst and Ben Ballhurst, two grandchildren, Kylee and Drew, and one brother, Edward Ballhurst of Alton.

Mr. Ballhurst was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Marguerete Ballhurst, and two children, Michael and Mary Ann.
