Susan "Mawca" Kathleen Fleigle

Susan “Mawca” Kathleen Fleigle, 71, of Morrisonville, IL passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at her home. She was born on December 3, 1952 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of James L. and Murthel W. McElroy. She married Lawrence “Larry” Fleigle on February 13, 1971 in Morrisonville, IL.

Susan retired from the Illinois Secretary of State on September 30, 2020. Mawca enjoyed riding the golf cart with her family, planting flowers, picking tomatoes from her garden, quarter auctions, and being her kids’ and grandchildrens’ #1 fan. Her favorite music artist was Prince, and she had the honor of seeing him in concert in 2012.

She is survived by her husband, Lawrence, of Morrisonville, IL; children, Kelli Fleigle of Morrisonville, IL; Michael Fleigle of Rio Rancho, NW, and Amy Wagahoft of Morrisonville; grandchildren, Courtney Coy, Alea and Tyce Wagahoft all of Morrisonville; and Wyatt and Eva Fleigle of Rio Rancho, NM; siblings, Colleen Smith and Patrick McElroy; and by her beloved dog, Dawson. She was preceded in passing by her mother; father; sister, Angel McElroy; and brother, James M. McElroy.

As per Susan’s wishes, no services will be held.
